2024/2025 School Year: You can enroll your student in TK via the Enrollment Home Page starting January 22, 2024, or by navigating to the AUSD home page and clicking the Enroll button on the right side home page. Then follow the "Steps to Enroll" directions for new students in 2024-2025.

No,  since TK is not offered at every school site, they are not zoned.  We will make every effort to place your student in the closest TK to your home given space availability, however.

We will enroll your children according to their date of birth. If you are interested in acceleration or deceleration, once the school year begins, you can request a meeting with your child’s teacher to discuss options.

Yes. At the time of your scheduled enrollment processing, your TK student’s immunizations must meet the minimum California immunization requirements. 

No. The physical exam may be completed up to 18 months prior to entry into first grade (6 months prior to the start of kindergarten) or within 90 days after the start of first grade. Parents may waive the health checkup requirement if they are unable to obtain a health screening for their child or choose not to obtain a health screening. In this case, the parent must sign the ‘Waiver of Health Examination for School Entry’ and turn it in at the time of their enrollment appointment. If the waiver indicates that the parents were unable to obtain such services, the reasons must be included in the waiver. If a parent was unable to obtain services due to financial constraints, their child may be eligible to receive a no-cost health examination through the CHDP program.

PLEASE NOTE: The physical exam requirement is separate from the immunization requirements.

No, but it should be turned in as soon as possible. The child’s dental exam (Oral Health Assessment) can be obtained up to 12 months prior to the start of kindergarten or any time during the kindergarten year. By state law, the exam must be complete and the form submitted to your school office by May 31st of your child’s kindergarten year.

Lunchtime is not included in the TK day. However, lunch will be provided if your child stays in the afterschool program. If you leave your child at school for the extended day program, school day staff will support students until 1:00 p.m. The Extended Day/After School Program starts at 1:00 p.m. and goes until 6:00 p.m.

Families, please enroll your children as early in after school programs as April or May as these fill up before the end of the current school year.
