Everyone Belongs Here Flag

Introduction

In response to student, staff, and family requests, AUSD is creating a flag to represent its “Everyone Belongs Here” motto. Board Member Ryan LaLonde, who is an artist and graphic designer, has drafted two flags that AUSD community members can choose between.

Both flags feature the “Everyone Belongs Here” shield created by students on the LGBTQ Round Table in 2015.

One flag has a plain blue background.

Like the "Everyone Belongs Here" poster, the other flag design includes statements such as, "All Faiths," "All Gender Identities,"  "All Nationalities," "All Families," "All Races," and "All Ethnicities" to signify AUSD's broad, inclusive philosophy and policies. While the writing won’t be legible on the flag when it’s raised, it signifies that all groups are included.

The September 30 AUSD newsletter includes a survey about the flag designs. Please select the flag design you prefer and add any comments you think might be useful.

Thank you!
