Facilities Master Plan

AUSD Facilities Master Plan 2013-14

The Board of Education voted in June, 2014 to place a bond measure (PDF) on the ballot for the November 4, 2014 election. That bond is to pay for repairing and modernizing the district's aging school facilities.

In order to plan for that potential bond (as well as qualify for matching funds from the state), the district needed to create a long-term “Facilities Master Plan." Such plans are essentially blueprints what schools will look like for next ten to 20 years.

During the 2013-2014 school year, Quattrochi Kwok Architects and district staff developed AUSD's Facilities Master Plan based on school site meetings, community-wide meetings, and detailed assessments of AUSD's facilities. Over the course of several Board of Education meetings in May and June, the Board of Education then discussed and voted on an Implementation Plan (PDF) for school site improvements. (Documents relating to those discussions are in the archive box, below.)
