We conduct the initial assessment of new students with a language other than English, place them in appropriate programs according to their levels of English language proficiency, and monitor their progress, including administering the annual assessment of listening, speaking, reading, and writing on the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) to all K-12 English Language Learners. District ELD support staff assists sites in creating their English Learner Advisory Committees (ELL parent/guardian groups known as ELACs) and also facilitate district-wide District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meetings.
