Common Core Assessments
Introduction
AUSD students participate in "Smarter Balanced Assessments" (or "Common Core tests") from March to May each year. (Each school site develops its own testing schedule within this time frame). These computer-based assessments measure students' proficiency with California’s Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics for grades 3-8 and 11.
The California Department of Education (CDE) releases the results of this testing to school districts across the state in the late summer. Once AUSD has received the individual student reports, we make them available via Aeries.
