Project Scope

The final design for the athletic field project has not yet been approved. The proposed facility will include a multi‑sport athletic field, a competition track, bleachers with an announcer’s box, and lighting and sound systems. Plans also include an access road and parking area to support use of the facility.

Project Update

APRIL, 2026

The athletic field project is currently in the conceptual planning phase, and detailed design work has not yet begun. The District is holding a series of community meetings to share information, answer questions, and gather public input prior to beginning the environmental review process.

Meeting notices, presentations, and minutes will continue to be posted on this website as they become available. Community members are also encouraged to share feedback or questions by emailing construction@alamedaunified.org.

CEQA Information

What is CEQA?

CEQA (pronounced "see-kwa") stands for California Environmental Quality Act. It requires government agencies to consider the environmental impacts of proposed plans, policies, or actions before approving them.

The goal of the CEQA process is to identify potential significant environment impacts of a project and identify ways to prevent those impacts by adjusting the project.
