Bond Oversight Committee

We are accepting applications to serve on the new Alameda Unified Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee to convene in Fall 2023.

On November 4, 2014, voters residing within the City of Alameda passed Measure I. Measure I is a $179,500,000 bond measure that authorizes funding for needed repairs, upgrades, and new construction projects to the District’s schools. On June 7, 2022, voters residing within the City of Alameda passed Measure B. Measure B is a $298,000,000 bond measure that also authorizes funding for needed repairs, upgrades, and new construction projects.

At its September 13, 2022 meeting, the Board of Education approved the expansion of the current Measure I Bond Oversight Committee to allow for one committee to oversee both Measure I and Measure B expenditures. The committee meets quarterly and is tasked with reviewing bond program expenditures and independent audits to ensure the will of the voters is strictly followed in accordance with the language of the original ballot measures.

The eleven-person committee is looking to fill six open positions:

  • One (1) senior citizen
  • One (1) parent or guardian active in a PTA
  • Four (4) at-large members

If you are interested in applying, please complete the linked application and provide it by  May 1, 2023.
