Both Lincoln Middle School and Alameda High School sheltered in place for about 40 minutes today due to a threatening telephone call received by the schools’ front office staff.

AUSD immediately contacted law enforcement, who went out to the sites out of an abundance of caution. They also spent some time investigating the nature of the call. Ultimately, they decided this was a prank call, likely related to a TikTok challenge, and the shelter in place was lifted at about 2:25 pm. However, APD continues to investigate.

All students and staff were safe during the shelter in place, and AUSD sent three notifications via ParentSquare keep both staff and families updated.

A shelter in place is called when there is a potential threat in the area. Students stay in their classrooms and teaching and learning continues. This precaution is not as severe as a lockdown, during which doors, gates, and windows are locked.

Please remember to check your phone and ParentSquare account for updates when there is an incident at our school, so that you receive the most accurate and up to date information.
