Students at Alameda High School Host Annual Lunar New Year Festival

On January 25, AHS students from the Chinese Culture Club, All Things Korean, and Vietnamese Student Union hosted the annual Lunar New Year Festival during lunch. The three clubs each contributed a cultural activity to the festival.

Students were encouraged to start by playing a game at the VSA table, Bầu cua cá cọp. VSA awarded winners with candy, and all participants received a stamp on their festival tickets.

After playing the game, students moved to ATK's language activity table. Participants learned to write "Happy New Year" in Hangul, the Korean alphabet.

CCC hosted two tables: an exhibit on the Chinese Zodiac and Vietnamese variations and a language activity where students would say new year's wishes in Mandarin or Cantonese.

Students who received stamps for all activities could pick up a red envelope with a treat inside. VSA and CCC worked together to prepare the red envelopes.

Congrats to all three clubs for putting on such a fun and educational event!
