Porter Davis showing the plaque to kindergarteners.

Porter Davis, a 92 year old graduate of Franklin Elementary School (formerly Sandler School) received a Guiness Book of World Records award for organizing the longest running class reunion. He broke the former record after gathering his kindergarten class of 1938 together for their 83rd reunion at Ole's Waffle Shop.

Last week, Mr. Davis gave the actual plaque to this year's Franklin kindergarteners during their lunch hour and also showed them pictures of himself as a five year old. Questions from the kindergarteners included, "How did you get the plaque? No, like how did you actually get it?" and several queries about his plans for a Halloween costume this year.

After chatting with the kindergarteners for a few minutes he told Principal Lynnette Chirrick how impressed he was that she knew all their names. "Well, they all have a special place in my heart!" she told him.
