New School Administrators 
 
This year, we're delighted to welcome five new school site administrators to AUSD. 
 
Rahima Abdel-Hamid will serve as the new principal at Bay Farm School. An experienced elementary school teacher and coach, Ms. Abdelhamid comes to Alameda from San Francisco Unified. In addition to teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade there, she served as a reading interventionist and literacy coach, and supported curriculum development and professional learning.
She received her BA from UC Los Angeles and her Master's Degree in Education from UC Berkeley. She also attended the Aspiring Principal Diversity in Leadership Fellowship, which is sponsored by the Diversity of Leadership Institute and Loyola Marymount University.
 
Sarah Altschul is stepping into the role of Assistant Principal at Lincoln Middle School. Most recently, Ms. Altschul worked as the Lead Mentor in Oakland Unified's New Teacher Support and Development program. She has also served as a Co-Director with UCB educators for Equity and Excellence and is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Alder Graduate School of Education.
 
She received her BA from University of Michigan and her Master's Degree in Education from UC Berkeley.
 
Also new to Lincoln is Jabari Lateef Snowden, who has been hired as an Assistant Principal. For the last several years, Mr. Jabari has been working as a Teacher on Special Assignment with our secondary Special Education program. He has also served as a special education teacher at the Fremont and Hayward Unified School Districts.
He received his BA at CSU-East Bay, and his Master's Degree in Education Administration from National University.
Alifea Davis, who comes to us from San Lorenzo Unified School District, will be an Assistant Principal at Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School.. In San Lorenzo, Mr. Davis worked as a Teacher on Special Assignment for Restorative Practices and the Director of Activities. Prior to that, he served as the Dean of Students at Leadership Public Schools.
 
He received his BA from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, his Masters of Law from Golden Gate University, and his Juris Doctor degree from New College of California. He is currently working on his Master's Degree at the Principal Leadership Institute at UC Berkeley.

Nicole Orlando will be a new Assistant Principal at Alameda High School. Ms. Orlando has been working in AUSD as a Teacher on Special Assignment and a Special Education Teacher Induction Mentor since 2021. Prior to that she served as a first a resource specialist and then a special education coordinator at a middle school in Los Angeles.

She received her BA from UC Los Angeles, an MA in Special Education from CSU-Dominguez Hills, an MA in Educational Administration from CSU-Los Angeles, and a post-Master’s Certificate in Educational Therapy from CSU-Northridge.
