Flyer for parcel tax oversight commitee

The Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) is now accepting applications for the Parcel Tax Oversight Committee.

The committee is comprised of 11 community members (including parent/guardians and district employees). It will meet four to six times over the next year to review the district’s compliance with the terms of Measure E in 2026-27.

(Measure E, which was passed in 2024 and went into effect on July 1, 2025, was designed to combine, replace, and renew the existing Measures B1 and A without increasing taxes. Like its predecessors, Measure E: provides about $24 million to support ASUD programs and salaries; helps to ensure a stable funding source for Alameda public schools; and helps AUSD continue to attract and retain quality educators as the cost of housing and living continues to rise in our community.

Each year, the committee’s work culminates in a staff Annual Report, as well as a shorter committee report, both of which will be presented to the Board of Education.

Applications are available on our Parcel Tax Oversight Committee page, or visit the Niel Tam Education Center at 2060 Challenger Drive.

Completed applications must be received in the district office no later than 5 pm on October 15, 2026. The Board of Education will vote on the recommended applicants at its October 27, 2026 public meeting.
