In a unanimous opinion issued yesterday, the state’s First District Court of Appeal ruled that Measure A – a parcel tax designed to help attract and retain high-quality AUSD employees – is legal and valid.

The former Otis principal will now bring her focus on equity and early childhood education to the district as a whole.

Negotiators for the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) and the Alameda Education Association (AEA) reached a tentative agreement (TA) Thursday in their contract negotiations for the 2022-23 through 2024-2025 school years.
