• General Liability Insurance Policy – all contractors must carry a general liability insurance policy with limits no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate, with AUSD named as an additional insured on the policy through endorsement.

• Livescan Clearance – contractors working with students must complete a DOJ/FBI Livescan with results to the District prior to beginning services.
• Tuberculosis Screening – contractors working with students or staff on more than an occasional basis will be required to provide evidence of a clear screening.
• Professional Liability Insurance Policy – contractors offering professional advice to the district will be required to maintain errors and omissions insurance or professional liability with coverage limits of $1,000,000 per claim.
• Auto Liability Insurance Policy – contractors must carry an auto liability policy with limits of not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage for any owned, hired, and non-owned autos, with AUSD named as an additional insured on the policy through endorsement.
• Workers’ Compensation Insurance Policy - as required by the California Labor Code, with not less than the statutory limits.

ALL 3 Labor Code Factors must apply:

• Contractor and its workers are free from the control and direction of the District in connection with the performance of the work, both under the contract for the performance of the work and in fact.
• The work to be performed by the Contractor and its workers is outside the usual course of the District's business.
• Contractor is customarily engaged in an independently established trade, occupation, or business of the same nature as that involved in the work performed.
