Parent/guardian engagement with their children’s education is strongly correlated with student success, including higher achievement, better social skills, and a greater likelihood of graduating from high school. It’s also a great way to better understand your child’s daily experience, meet other parents, support other children and families in your community, and have fun! Because of that, AUSD is committed to providing accurate, timely, and transparent communications via a variety of platforms for the community.

AUSD sends a newsletter to our employees, families, and media partners several times a month. Newsletters generally include press releases on district news, articles about AUSD people and programs, reminders about deadlines, a listing of events, and links to articles in local media outlets. If you don't already it, you can subscribe to our newsletter.  Links to our newsletters, superintendent letters, and articles are available on our press materials page.

"Notes from AUSD"

We publish a bi-weekly column in the Alameda Journal that provides background information on current issues, news about upcoming events, and updates on long-term projects.

flyer policy

AUSD accepts and distributes flyers from Alameda-based organizations offering childcare, sports opportunities, and other family-oriented services and events. Because AUSD is a "green" district, we generally send flyers to the school sites to be distributed via their electronic newsletters. With prior permission, however, community members can leave 5 posters or 20 flyers at each site.

Please contact Susan Davis to get your flyers approved and sent to our local schools.
